Black Lava Sophisticated Necklace with Natural Hematite Chunks

I love the color of natural lava beads and their nooks and crannies. These large round lava beads came all the way from Indonesia. After trying beads of different colors to string with them, I chose to contrast them with unusual, unexpected beads: medium size, free-form chunks of natural hematite whose color looks like a soft shade of bronze. (The hematite we usually see is the very shiny charcoal gray hematite.)

The whole necklace feels earthy to me and very “green.”

The necklace is 26 ¾” long and ends with a free-form, complementary, 1” bronze toggle fastener.

I separated the beads with black seed beads and used them at the end of the necklace to make it easy to fasten the toggle.
