The type of necklace referred to as “Illusion necklace“ is very popular this days. Usually, a small number of beads hang separately every few inches on a metal link chain. If well done, the beads create the illusion that they are floating, not connected to anything.
I like the idea. I like the light look and feel of such necklaces, but I create my own versions.
In this case, I have taken clear light yellow glass beads, 3 mm. in diameter and used them as a chain instead of metal links. I placed beads of different shapes, sizes, colors, and textures sporadically on this chain. I started with the handmade, and hand-decorated, mustard yellow polymer focal. I then added complementary beads, such as the two yellow and gold, glass, Art Deco beads from Germany, corals from Italy, and other beads from this country.
The 33” long necklace is one of a kind and ends with gold plated 6/8” D. toggle fastener.
