Product Description

I love jasper with its infinite colors and patterns that nature designed for them. Jasper stones are often named for the places where they were found. However, many times somebody with an imagination gives them names based on what the stones remind him/her of. Thus, there are, for example: Dalmatian jasper, Zebra jasper, sesame jasper, and Picasso jasper.

In this spirit, I decided to use my imagination and named a few jasper pendants, including this one, “Pocketbook pendant.” The shape of this stone reminds me of a slick and elegant real pocketbook hanging on a chain.

The title for this jasper pendant sounds like a recipe for a good dish, but actually this is a Red Creek jasper pendant.

The word “red” in the name is misleading. It is given to stones excavated next to a river in China, called Red Creek, which are actually known for their variations of sage, olive, brown, yellow, tan, and pumpkin colors.

This pendant has some of these colors including camouflage green, and it is beautiful. I hung it on a complementary bronze chain that looks great with it.

The “Pocketbook” pendant is 1 ¾” x 1 ¼”.   In total, it is about 22” long.

It is a one-of-a-kind necklace.
