Turquoise and Silver Pendant on Tribal Chain

For some reason, when I hear the word “tribal” in connection with jewelry, I think of a piece with earthy and warm colors which may have been made by a woman in a remote village in Africa or Asia. However, this tribal-looking necklace has cool colors and a Southwest feeling. It was made by a woman in a village north of New York City—me.

The real turquoise and sterling silver, handsome pendant is from Arizona and is 2″ x 1″ x 5/8.”

The large pewter balls are from Bali and are 15 mm. in diameter. The light green unpolished and faceted aventurine beads are hand-crafted and 15 mm. x 13 mm. The pewter spacers are 4 mm. deep and 6 mm. in diameter. The small green glass beads are 3 mm.

The one-of-a-kind necklace is almost 26″ long; with the 2″ pendant, its length adds up to 28″. It can be extended with a 2″ chain, which can be fastened to the hook type clasps at the end of the chain. The silver chain is $1.50 extra.                #275
